IBERDROLA HAS AWARDED ELECNOR TWO CONTRACTS IN THE U.S. AND THE UNITED KINGDOM AMOUNTING TO EUR 20 MILLION

IBERDROLA has awarded Elecnor contracts in United States and United Kingdom for a total of 19.8 million euros, to be executed through its subsidiaries Elecnor Hawkeye (USA) and IQA (United Kingdom).

In particular, Central Maine Power, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, commissioned Elecnor construction and rehabilitation of 115 kilovolts (kV) and 34.5 kV lines for 14.5 million dollars (13.2 billion euros). The project, called Lewiston Loop, will be held in the State of Maine and will serve to interconnect several substations in the area.

One of the particularities of the same will be installation in one of the new lines of a fiber optic OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) cable through procedures of works in tension, which will strengthen communications and for which will be held the temporary displacement of existing lines. Likewise, Elecnor Hawkeye will confront the environmental requirements arising in the course of a part of the future lines along the banks of the Androscoggin River, located between the towns of Lewiston and Auburn.

In United Kingdom, ScottishPower, Scottish subsidiary of Iberdrola, has awarded Elecnor a contract for 5 million pounds (6.6 million euros) for the implementation of reforms and the installation of new medium-voltage overhead lines, as well as addressing the incidents caused by the weather. The activities in the areas of Ayrshire, Scotland and North Wales, in Welsh.
